An extension of Bethea Family Dentistry (also located in Columbia), Deeper Than Dentistry originated from Dr. Gary A. Bethea’s desire to connect on more than just the level of providing excellent dental care to his patients. Along with his wife, Dr. Shayla Bethea, this vision became a mission to provide a deeper level of service to others.

Deeper Than Dentistry was officially established in 2021 as an SC-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina.

The mission of Deeper Than Dentistry is to empower individuals to explore careers in dentistry and other areas of healthcare. We also provide access to quality dental services for our under-served neighbors through community events. Our ultimate hope is for everyone we encounter to know Christ and live a life of purpose.
